As a Senior Scientist within Bioscience, you'll have a good understanding of the range of procedures relating to bioanalysis/bioscience. You will expertly design and conduct laboratory projects/experiments, develop methods, generate interpret and report scientific data. You'll also be proficient in trouble shooting and theory.

What you'll do

  • Designs, plans and performs high-quality in-vitro drug discovery experiments independentlyin the oncology disease area to assess efficacy, triage and understand mechanism of action of lead candidates

  • Delivers & analyses data, providing interpretations using scientific rigour from own data and that of others, andcommunicates results to team members in a clear and concise manner with a clear understanding of its implications within drug discovery

  • Shows scientific leadership to identify and develop new complex cell basedbioassay ideas, implement new models/assays/latest technology relevant to bioconjugatesand their small molecule payloads

  • Works collaboratively with team members and cross-functionally to support early drug discovery platforms and projects and establish opportunities to succeed

  • Maintains a well-developed understanding of approaches to bioassaysand antibody-drug conjugates, applying a broader functional knowledge to support the team

  • Actively develops own skillsetand alsoenablescolleagues to thrive through mentoring, regularly sharingexpertise and relevant scientific papers and as a role modelfor Good Laboratory Practice and Safety, Health and Environment standards

Essential for the role

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Bio/chemical engineering or relevant discipline

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in above disciplines with relevant industrial experience

  • Deep understanding of protein biochemistry and cell biology

  • Extensive hands-on experience in cell culturewith a track-record of establishing, validating and conducting in vitrobioassays and application to drug discovery

  • Experience with GraphPad Prism, microplate readers and liquid handling automation

  • 3D complex cell culture, target engagement (e.g.WB), and cell imaging experience would be highly desirable

  • Protein/bioconjugate characterisation (e.g.HPLC/LCMS)experiencemight be beneficial
