In order to deliver our Operations 2030 strategy roadmap, the Operations Data Office is now looking for a Global Data Steward to join our team. You will play an important role in the expansion of Data Governance across the Operations Business Unit, whilst ensuring alignment with Enterprise initiatives. Your specific focus will be Master Data Standards and Quality management to drive high quality data and process performance.
Typical Accountabilities
Data Governance Strategy and Operations
- Support the Data Governance Lead in the development & implementation of our Data Governance strategy.
- Own the plan to drive improved Data Governance maturity progress for your assigned Critical Data Objects & Element(s)
- Identify and manage partner data requirements & data challenges.
- Lead the definition of required data standards, including maintenance processes, for all identified Critical Data Elements & Attributes.
- Liaises with SMEs and Information Architects in a proactive way, to support the development of conceptual models, business glossary and ontologies.
- Lead implementation of data standards across data networks & use GEMBA to ensure alignment.
- Lead the development of data quality rules & process performance metrics.
- Reviews the design and development of data quality & process performance metric visualisation.
- Apply subject matter knowledge to resolve Data Quality defects and shape resolutions to complex data queries & issues.
- Contribute into project data design & governance design activities, as needed. Understanding Critical Data Element maturity v project requirements and plan to close identified gaps.
- Contribute to robust transition to BAU to maintain project data fitness for purpose.
- Apply Lean toolsets to inspire change and improvement activities relating to your assigned Critical Data Objects & Element(s)
Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, data or technology field or equivalent number of years of experience.
- Strong domain expertise and demonstrable experience within data governance
- Experience in data ownership or stewardship
- Experience of Business/IT partnering for the implementation of Data Governance solutions.
- Knowledge and experience with regulated and/or legal environment and requirements (e.g., GxP, data privacy and security)
- Experience of Data Governance tools such as MDG, RDM and MDM
- Experience of Data Product Governance
- Experience of Data Cataloguing tooling such as Collibra
- A demonstrable understanding of SAP
- Good communication skills
- Proven change management, interpersonal, assertiveness and negotiation skills
- Robust working experience in international and intercultural settings
- Fluency in English
- Master’s degree in business administration, Information/Data Science, Informatics, computer science, economics, or related subject area.
- Experience in life sciences and healthcare.
- Experience in Operations function
- Network of relevant contacts and relationships, including external links
- Data Governance and Data Management education and certifications
- Applied data management and data science skills, including experience with related tools.
- Strong consulting skills
