Due to business transformation, we have exciting leadership opportunities as Production Managers and Associates (Process Leaders) in our sterile manufacturing facilities on our evolving Macclesfield campus.
We have shift-based positions for first-line manager roles working across a range of sterile packaging processes suitable for leaders in manufacturing roles, line management roles in similar industries such as packaging or processing, team leaders roles, supervisors, or technical roles who are looking to take the next step in their career path with a global Bio-pharmaceutical company.

You will carry responsibility for the day-to-day performance of defined processes in terms of adherence to plan, operational standards, cost, asset, cGMP and safety.
As a capable leader and coach, you will develop a team and lead and mentor the shift supervisors responsible for plant routine performance and short-term planning.
Responsibilities:
A strong, confident leader, you'll be responsible for leading people, equipment (packing lines) and material resources and processes. This in turn will ensure a high-quality product in accordance with the departmental operating strategy.
Working with a team in a sterile production facility, you will lead the development of your team whilst managing our compliance with cGMP, safety, health and environment, as well as AstraZeneca standards.
You will exercise end-to-end leadership accountability for the supply chain in which you operate whilst supporting process and operational improvements in the AstraZeneca lean culture.
We'll expect you to lead your team, know and run your business area – achieving your balanced scorecard whilst maintaining supply in line with customer demand.
Resilient and used to working in a dynamic, changing environment, you'll be comfortable networking with varying partners, both internal and external to AstraZeneca. This will include being creative and researching standard methodology from other regulated industries where required.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of packaging equipment and processes
- Experience within manufacturing or operations and fast paced environments – non pharmaceutical considered
- Understanding and application of Lean or Manufacturing Excellence principles. We'll need you to have the ability to deploy process improvements and problem solving in a highly regulated environment
- Ideally, knowledge of sterile manufacturing principles and their application
- Ideally line management or strong task management experience
- A degree in a science, engineering, manufacturing or a supply chain related subject, or a relevant amount of proven experience is required
Please note:
Successful candidates who will be joining AZ as employees will be offered 12 month Fixed Term Contracts at either Manager or Associate level, with the option for extension for the right candidate
