AstraZeneca has an opportunity for a Treasury Analyst to join the Treasury Front Office team as part of the wider Group Treasury function based in our central Cambridge office. Working within a collaborative team you will be responsible for managing the day to day liquidity of the Group across c. 30 currencies as well as having engagement on all other day to day activities of the Front Office function.
The role could be an entry opportunity into the corporate working environment or where the individual has a few years’ experience. Either way, we require the individual to be curious and demonstrate a desire to learn and develop, as well as possessing an attention for detail, operating with intuition and decisiveness. It is anticipated that responsibilities will increase over time.
The Group Treasury team is currently made up of 20 individuals, supporting the AstraZeneca Group on all Treasury matters. The role and current size of the core Treasury team provides an excellent opportunity to directly contribute to the Treasury function of a global FTSE 10 company.

Role and Key Responsibilities
Support the daily monitoring and management of the Asian and European Group cash pooling arrangements across c. 30 currencies
Assist with monitoring and management of key FX exposures across the Group
Execute daily foreign exchange transactions to manage the Group liquidity and hedge exposures ($15+ billion of FX spots and forwards per annum)
Support the management and reporting of daily liquidity through investment and redemption of a variety of short-term money market instruments (eg money market funds, repos, separately managed accounts) to maximise yield within security and liquidity constraints (year end 2022 group cash investments of c.$6 billion)
Assist with issuance of short-term debt in the US Commercial Paper market
Assist with production of daily, weekly and other periodic reporting related to Front Office activities
Joint Front Office point of contact for all funding needs from the Group
Run and analyse Front Office monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Collaborate with Treasury Operations to ensure efficient execution of daily tasks
Challenge existing processes to drive continuous improvement/automation
Provide support on ad-hoc treasury projects and initiatives
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Prior treasury experience is not a pre-requisite for the role as full training will be provided for the right candidate. However, it is important to possess an educational background and/or interest in finance and financial markets.
The key knowledge, skills and behaviors required are:
Qualified to degree level (Bachelors or Masters) preferably in a mathematical, science, engineering or finance related subject
General interest and introductory understanding of finance and financial markets
Self-starter with the desire to learn and develop a career in Corporate Treasury
Prepared to study for a professional finance qualification e.g. ACT, CIMA or ACCA with financial support from the company
Focus on delivery and able to work accurately and decisively under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and takes pride in doing so
Sets high personal standards and takes responsibility for delivering top-class service, always acting with integrity
Naturally curious with an inclination to challenge and drive continual improvement
Strong Excel skills and comfortable with basic statistical and financial analysis
Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster respectful working relationships within AZ and with our external financial counterparties
