Enterprise Process Lead – External Supply Manufacturing Processes and External Collaboration
Macclesfield, Luton, Gartuna, Snackviken, Wilmington, Newark, Fredrick, Mt Vernon, Wuxi
The Axial Programme (Global S/4HANA implementation)
We are one purpose-led global organisation. The enablers and innovators, ensuring that we can fulfil our mission to push the boundaries of science and discover and develop life-changing medicines. We take pride in working close to the cause, opening the locks to save lives, ultimately making a massive difference to the outside world.
AstraZeneca (AZ) is in a period of strong growth and our employees have a united purpose to make a difference to patients around the world who need both our medicines and the ongoing developments from our science. In this journey AZ must continue to work across borders and with partners and new colleagues in a fast and seamless way. The ambition, size and complexity of the organisation, coupled with the opportunities afforded by new technology, has led the Board to approve a large-scale transformation of the IT landscape by the replacement of current ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems with one global solution.
Our current technology is used by more than 20,000 employees daily, is foundational to all AZ entities and is central to most core business processes. This programme provides the opportunity for real transformation and to shape the way of working globally for many years to come.
This programme requires the best. Whether it be the technical skills, business understanding or change leadership, we want to ensure we have the strongest team deployed throughout. The programme seeks to deliver a world class change programme that leaves all employees with a fuller understanding of their role in the end-to-end nature of our global company. This programme will provide AZ with a competitive edge, to the benefits of its employees and patients.
We are now looking for an Enterprise Process Lead – External Supply Manufacturing Processes and External Collaboration covering Procurement/Material Management and Payables.
What you'll do:
As Enterprise Process Lead (EPL) for External Supply Manufacture (ESM), you will own and be accountable for the Material Management processes within the ERP design which combine and ensure the effective flow of material into and between our global manufacturing sites as well are our partners sites where we integrate our ERP for these activities.
You will lead a team of SMEs in the definition, design and ongoing improvement of the processes and tools to ensure efficient, effective, and transparent ways of working. These will consider both the opportunities of the future ERP technology implementation and the practical adoption of the technology within existing sites. You will evaluate and design the integrations required for the SAP technology to work with existing Procurement and Material Management infrastructure including the most effective implementation approach in any specific location.
You will work closely with the Planning, Transportation, wider Procurement and Production to Dispatch teams to ensure effective integrated processes for the reception of material at the ESM sites, availability of material within the sites and transportation of material between sites including associated quality control processes.
You will contribute to setting the strategic direction for the process with the Executive Process Owner (EPO) and drive the process towards that strategic direction.
You'll lead the process network to drive process maturity and continuous improvements, linking with connected BPOs to ensure alignment across Plan, Source, Make & Deliver business processes.
In this role you will also co-lead the working group of an Enterprise External Collaboration (EEC) effort with other Axial Enterprise Process leads. EEC looks to connect multiple inflight initiatives and functions looking to drive improved Collaboration and data interchanges with external partners. All initiatives hold merit standing alone but directional conflict/overlap is starting to emerge. The intent of EEC is to provide a framework that all inflight/planned initiatives within this area can sit under with cross functional involvement, steering and ownership. The role will be accountable for driving this significant body of work, ensuring a working group and steer co. function effectively to make decisions within this area. Lastly the creation of a technology co-existence roadmap will be a key deliverable from this area.
In this role you will also be driving the use cases, deployment plans and business alignment for SAP Business Network alongside counterparts from other EPO pillars (order and distribution to cash, network strategy & supply chain planning, production to dispatch door and integrated clinical supply management).
Partner with our SI/BI partner Accenture to gleam and implement best practice around utilising SAP Business Network alongside other related technologies during S4 HANA rollout. How/should SAP BN be implemented into the current ECC environment or does co-deployment make sense are the types of questions to be addressed by this role.
Bringing expertise to 2024’s ‘fit to standard’ workshops specifically around Procurement/Material Management and External Collaboration.
Essential Requirements:
A Degree in Statistics / Engineering (MIS, Computers Science), or bachelor’s degree (equivalent experience will be considered).
