The Macclesfield Campus is an essential part of AstraZeneca’s UK Operation and the 2nd largest operational site within the company’s global network. It is approx. 100 acres with around 4500 people working on site. The site is unique in the AstraZeneca network having Operations, R&D, G&A, IT and others on its site

About the Apprenticeship Programme

We are offering Apprenticeships within our Clinical Supply Chain organisation and Commercial Sourcing and Supply department. We support AstraZeneca across all key therapeutic areas and supporting projects in all phases of the drug development lifecycle and manufacturing.

Roles available are:

• Commercial Sourcing and Supply– Ensure materials are available to meet the production plan and finished products are distributed in a timely and compliant manner to patients around the world.

• Clinical Manufacturing and Supply Chain – You will work in a team responsible for creating and supplying clinical trials using Clinical Supply Chain business processes, systems, metrics and technology to meet the needs of the business, the patients and the AstraZeneca Clinical portfolio.

Training and Development

AstraZeneca will sponsor you through your Supply Chain Leadership degree with Aston University; https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/supply-chain-leadership-professional-degree/.

The apprenticeship combines working, earning a full-time salary, with fully funded part-time university learning (on average 1 day/week). This will give you the opportunity to gain a Supply Chain Leadership degree, just as you would if you went to university full-time, with the advantage of gaining relevant work-life skills and the excitement of helping to develop new medicines whilst taking your first steps towards a rewarding career.

Skills and Capabilities

• Good communication & team working skills

• High organisation skills and confidence to work independently

• The ability to apply a rational approach to problem solving; making judgments based on sound reasoning, approaching problems in a logical manner

• Concerns for Standards

• High numeracy, digital and literacy skills

• Self-motivation & able to work on own initiative

Entry Requirements:

• 5 GCSEs Grades 9-4 including minimum 6 grade in Maths, English and preferably a Science subject or business subject

• To have achieved or predicted to achieve 3 A-Levels at Grade C or equivalent
