Description

Within Data Science & Advanced Analytics (DS&AA) we work directly with our stakeholders in therapy areas and use machine learning, predictive modelling, and visualisation to deliver insight from clinical trial data. A key challenge in leveraging clinical trial data is being able to harmonise the data from multiple studies (internal and external) to create analysis ready datasets. Whilst we have a number of methodologies already in place for data harmonisation within DS&AI, we are now exploring the utility of AI based harmonisation methods. We are looking for someone with experience in building and deploying AI based harmonisation methods to join our team and support deployment of automated harmonisation methods.

We are currently seeking post-doc candidates for an 8-12 week salaried internship contract during the summer of 2024.

As a Data Science Intern you will...

• Build and or deploy an AI based data harmonisationa algorithm to support harmonisation of clinical trial data.
• Collaborate with AstraZeneca data scientists in applying machine learning, AI, and data science techniques to help push the boundaries of science to develop life changing medicines for patients worldwide.
• Support AstraZeneca data scientists in developing and implementing solutions designed to drive the interrogation of datasets for biological insights.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:

• PhD in machine learning.
• Coding in Python.
• Experience working with clinical trial data and experience in using AI driven methodologies for harmonising data from multiple trials.
• Statistical knowledge, data science knowledge, data visualization, machine learning skills such as: regression, classification, clustering, NLP, image analysis, graph theory or similar.
• Authorized to work in the UK
