THE ROLE
The ENABLE Guarantee is a commercially negotiated, bespoke structured guarantee solution, typically used by banks as a synthetic securitisation, or by non-banks to enhance the terms of their warehouse facilities. It is a key product for the Bank’s Guarantee & Wholesale Solutions team and is executed by the Wholesale Products & Analytics team that originates, structures and manages cash and risk transfer transactions supporting SME finance portfolios.
This role is in an exciting and growth area within the Bank as we look to support SME lenders with more commercial solutions following the pandemic, as well as support the net zero agenda. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on both cash and synthetic transactions and/or potentially specialise.
The Senior Structurer, ENABLE Guarantees will successfully execute ENABLE Guarantee transactions, performing all aspects of a typical execution process, including ensuring an appropriate risk/return is achieved for the Bank. This means you will perform detailed credit analysis on the transaction, ensure the transaction structure is properly documented and obtain relevant approvals in a timely manner. You will receive support from the Director, ENABLE Guarantees for issues which are non-standard, commercially sensitive or require further product development, but otherwise strive to execute transactions independently.
You will be required to manage all risks in conjunction with the relevant teams (including operational, reputational and regulatory) on top of the credit risk, both during the execution phase and post-completion. You will help to develop and, in some cases, directly manage more junior colleagues and manage deal teams when required. As a product expert for ENABLE Guarantees you will also market products with our Origination & Relationship Management Team, and liaise with the legal and risk departments regarding transactions.
In this position you will need extensive experience in securitisation or equivalent capital markets roles. You will have proven experience in the credit analysis of granular securitisation transactions or CLOs and ideally will have a track record marketing and independently executing securitisation transactions. Given this experience, we expect you to have strong analytical and financial modelling skills (including cash flow modelling and data analysis) and excellent knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks.
The role requires excellent communication skills and senior-level commercial negotiating skills. It is preferred that you are also proficient in VBA or similar. You will be educated to degree level in a quantitative discipline or have equivalent work experience. You will inspire confidence and collaboration, and encourage diversity of thought.
