As the fastest-growing fibre network in the UK, you could say we’re changing things up. Not only are we unlocking the digital potential of an entire nation, but we’re also constantly evolving, to give our people the most seamless employee experience possible. We’re doing this by creating a sense of purpose among our teams and offering career development opportunities the like of which has never been seen before.
We believe the transition from a military career to CityFibre to be a natural step, whether you have completed a full term or shorter service, all the skills and behavioural traits you may not even appreciate, make you a perfect candidate for our company. Our work is fuelled by the possibility of building something better for the UK – we know that’s something you’re passionate about too.
Who is the Resettlement Programme for?
Our placements are aimed at service leavers, who are planning on leaving the military and are looking for an internship opportunity during their official resettlement period. We offer placements of between 1 – 8 weeks.
What does a Build Assurance Engineer do?
Our Build Assurance Engineers are critical in helping us to fulfil our ambition of delivering Fibre to the Home to 8 million premises by 2025. They take responsibility for monitoring a full fibre network deployment, using their skills and expertise to oversee civils and fibre construction activities, ensuring our build partner is carrying out site operations on time, and to specification within quality, health, safety and environmental guidelines.
What will I be doing?
Throughout this placement, you’ll be given exposure to CityFibre, gain valuable experience and be part of powering the UK’s Full Fibre revolution. You’ll work alongside some of our Build Assurance Engineers, learning first-hand what it takes to set new standards and unleash digital potential.
You will learn how to support our Build Partners to meet quality and safety standards, and guide them through issues encountered while building on a daily bases. You'll also have the opportunity to shadow audits taking place to ensure we have built to the highest standards
Our Armed Forces Network
Our Service Leavers know what it means to be a part of something bigger. We’ve set up the CityFibre Armed Forces Network to offer our ex-forces employees a sense of comfort and familiarity. It’s a place to come together, share experiences, offer support and raise awareness for different military charities.
You’ll be introduced to the Network during your time with us, so they can offer support, guidance and answer any questions you might have about your transition into civilian life.
