What will your typical day look like?
You’ll work with colleagues across the region to expand our Australian aid portfolio and support the delivery of our programs. In this leading role, you will drive and support proposals, manage and facilitate development programs, and contribute to the strategic direction of our business. You’ll work with diverse internal and external technical teams and a broad range of stakeholders to facilitate real impact in our region.
You’ll join Deloitte’s International Development Practice, a national team with the location of the position flexible within Australia.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Driving priority business development pursuits within the Australian Aid portfolio and managing our pipeline
- Supporting the mobilisation and implementation of development programs, ensuring excellence in delivery
- Building and maintaining strong and effective working relationships with Deloitte colleagues, key clients, alliance partners and consultants
- Playing a key role in the International Development Practice’s technical excellence and thought leadership in support of growth across Asia and the Pacific.

You are someone with:
- An appetite for challenge, energised by the opportunity to help build something new and impactful in the Australian aid portfolio
- Proven skills in business development with a track record of winning development contracts, ideally across the Asia Pacific region within the Australian aid portfolio
- Excellent relationships and networks across the development sector in Asia and/or the Pacific
- A track record in the management and/or direction of multi-year Australian aid initiatives or programs
- A client-focused approach, with a deep understanding of DFAT expectations, priorities, norms and practice
- An outcome-driven orientation, supported by self-awareness and comfort in making difficult decisions
- The ability to prioritise, problem-solve and drive pursuits and programs forward
- Exemplary stakeholder management skills to foster collaboration, facilitate teaming and influence outcomes
- A strong commercial mindset and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, including outstanding English written and oral communication, especially in presenting, and producing deliverables
- Flexibility to travel across the Asia Pacific region.
It would be advantageous if you also brought:
- Strong familiarity with current DFAT policies, procedures, standards and practices relevant to the Australian aid program, especially in the implementation of these in different contexts
- Previous experience in a consulting environment
- Experience in security and justice, climate change, digital for development or economics and trade programming.
