About the job
Job summary
Are you studying a project management, business studies or similar degree?
Do you have a curious personality?
Looking for the placement during your degree?
Scratch the surface with a placement (Industrial Placement for 12 months or a Summer Placement for 10-12 weeks) where you will join the project management community and be embedded within a Science and Technology division:
- Operations
- Cyber and Information Systems
- Counter-terrorism and Security
- Exploration
- Platforms Systems
Our placements are designed to give you an insight into working within project management on behalf of science, research and defence. You might be the support behind the science, or providing valuable help to the enabling divisions. Our project managers work across estates, digital and of course science to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.
During your placement, you will understand the impact you can make as a project manager. Supported by both the project management and science community your growth will be nurtured as you apply existing and new skills to genuine projects.
We want you to get stuck in, to challenge us, to question norms and to make the most of every opportunity.
During your placement, you will discover:
- The role of project management in a science, research and technology organisation
- How your skills apply in unexpected ways,
- things you didn’t know existed (most of which you can’t even tell your friends about!).
To get the most from your placement, you will spend at least 75% of your time on site. This way you can engage with other employees whilst learning and developing skills within a computer lab, workshop or collaboration space.
That’s not all, impress us. We will speak to you about our sponsorship opportunities!
