Projects Managers joining our team:

  • Are able to lead and motivate a diverse team to effectively deliver.
  • Possess excellent stakeholder management, both internal and external,
  • Have great communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence and negotiate with a wide audience to achieve desired results
  • Have commercial project knowledge
  • Have strong financial acumen including forecasting and analysis
  • Are confident reporting to a Programme Manager on project plans, variances, risks and mitigating actions.

Dstl is looking for experienced Project Managers who are used to delivering within a P3 construct (or similar reporting system) and thrive working in an ever changing and evolving and environment. You'll provide project management practices and we'll supply the technical experts to deliver world leading projects from the bottom of the ocean and into space and beyond.

Person specification

Essential Experience

  • Delivering multiple projects consecutively within a recognised project management framework (at level 6 you would typically have 5 years + experience)
  • Manage finances with tolerances
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Successfully manage risks
  • Contract management experience (level 6)
  • Health and safety awareness

Desirable experience:

  • Recognised Project Management Qualification (APM / Prince)

This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.
