The new Senior Carbon Manager will lead the implementation of our decarbonisation roadmap and work to align the airport’s capital projects, investments, aviation growth and business activities with our net zero pathway. The role will include liaising with internal colleagues across the campus and with external stakeholders, such as campus partners, airlines, the local council and the wider Scottish Government. This is an analytical and data driven role which will also include the development of tools to enable regular reporting of progress against our pathway targets and to forecast the impact of new activities and or projects on our carbon footprint.

- Initial candidate conversations are anticipated w/c 18th of December with in person interviews anticipated w/c 8th January.
- Role expected to commence from March/April 2024.
- Contribute to the development of and support the roll-out of the second version of our Greater Good sustainability strategy, to be launched June 2024.
- Development, creation and analysis of emission performance indicators, a performance dashboard and development of a supply chain emissions protocol.
- Champion the work stream on delivering net zero with internal teams for scope 1 & 2 emissions.
- Communication and collaboration with external stakeholders, such as our campus partners, suppliers, airlines, ground handlers, public transport providers, academia and Scottish Government on scope 3 emissions.
- Horizon scanning for new sustainability innovations & partnerships help to build a sustainability knowledge base and drive engagement at the airport.
- Deep dive and build knowledge around the data for upcoming reporting requirements, working with our finance team to collate data, calculate emissions and support annual reporting and verification exercises.
- Support and actively enable other teams to implement sustainability initiatives by researching information and delivering in-house training on sustainability topics as necessary throughout the business.

Key strengths:
- A strong interest and knowledge in sustainability topics (carbon accounting, decarbonisation, circularity, supply chain & UK ESG regulatory landscape etc.)
- A background in engineering, analytics, environmental or sustainability management or in related studies.
- Excellent follow-up, organisational and project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks collaborating with operational teams across the airport.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team, using a solution-oriented approach, with effective time and delivery management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to learn quickly and have the drive, energy and the ability to influence people.
- Advanced working knowledge of database tools required.
- Professional membership of IEMA or other relevant body.
