About the team

The sustainability team is here to promote, improve, and deliver upon Edinburgh Airport’s ambitious sustainability strategy. Collaborating with teams throughout the airport, we work to meet and exceed our commitments across the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) spectrum.

Our team sits within the larger Communications department, but interacts with teams across the airport – from security to finance, operations to HR. No two days are the same at the airport and we are lucky to have the opportunity to work on interesting projects of all shapes and sizes.

Before making your application, please make sure you check out our FAQs section, which includes useful information about our criteria and recruitment process.
What you'll be doing
  • Assisting with the administration, analysis, and delivery of our community outreach programmes.
  • Working with the wider team to identify and roll out improvements to our internal and external sustainability reporting/promotion.
  • Producing and rolling out a staff travel survey across the airport with a view to further improving response rates.
  • Support with the launch of the second version of our Greater Good strategy.
  • Support with Campus Partner Engagement on sustainability related matters.
What we're looking for

We are looking for a motivated individual to join the team, someone that can work with teams and colleagues throughout the airport.

  • You will be enthusiastic with a good work ethic.
  • You have an interest in all things sustainability and, ideally, a desire to work in the field in the future.
  • You should also be a skilled communicator and comfortable working on projects independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
What we'll offer you
  • Exposure to behind-the-scenes airport operations and insight into how it runs day-to-day
  • Networking opportunities with other interns on campus, Leadership and Executive teams
  • Free on-site car parking (for both when you are working and when you go on holiday)
  • Discounted shopping in the various retail and catering outlets within the Terminal
  • Access to EAL Rewards, our benefits platform for discounts with high street names, gyms, cinemas, fuel, and supermarkets
