Freightliner is a nationwide operator with a fleet of over 175 locomotives and 2,000 wagons. We boast our own in house maintenance and overhaul teams undertaking world class engineering out of 6 major maintenance depots and supported by a team of mobile maintenance engineers.
Freightliner are looking for a versatile engineer who is able to lead the turnkey delivery of Freightliner’s varied portfolio of projects. This includes leading the development of innovative technology and supporting Freightliner’s journey to a carbon neutral future. The successful candidate will also take ownership of the delivery of major overhauls and new build vehicle projects to support the continued growth of Freightliner’s business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Manage a portfolio of live major projects taking ownership for all risk management, project, planning, budgeting, delivery and lessons learnt.
- Act as technical lead for all projects through all stages of the project lifecycle, including; design, build, approvals and entry into service.
- Manage cost control for projects
- Manage the project warranty period
- Lead the delivery of innovation and research projects to enable the exploitation of new technology solutions for Freightliner.
- Manage the development of projects and creation of business cases for approval
- Actively engage with supply chain to identify and develop suitable suppliers for projects and major works.
