Granny Smith Mine (GSM) is an underground gold mining operation located 740km northeast of Perth, Western Australia. Our people fly to the site on a chartered jet departing Perth Airport’s Terminal 2 four days a week to Laverton with a travel time of around 85 minutes, or via road for employees residing in host community towns including Laverton and Kalgoorlie.
Role Details:
Reporting to the Unit Manager: Technical Services, you will be responsible for executing the mechanical, electrical & civil related projects to enhance current mine production and meet anticipated project demand in alignment with Gold Fields standards, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off, 4 days on and 3 days off roster or a variation thereof and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

Duties of the role:
- Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management Systems’ standards to audits within the mine.
- Evaluation studies for potential and identified projects including leading of scoping, feasibility and engineering studies that assists the company to achieve production targets
- Project management of approved site capital projects utilising a formal project management framework that demonstrates strong and explicit safety leadership, plans, organises, monitors & controls all aspects of projects according to rank and delivers these to a defined standard.
- Provide technology solutions to be included in trade off and project evaluations
- Manage the activities of contractors in a cost effective and efficient manner, ensuring that they are aware of performance targets, have the necessary tools to achieve these and that their activities are aligned with Company targets.
- Ensure organisational capability by using relevant SAP reports or like monitor of reliability, availability and cost effectiveness of all assets under control.
About You:
You will have:
- Qualifications in Project Management
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
- Valid C Class driver’s licence
- Exposure to MS Projects, SAP, INX, and other software systems
- Extensive experience in a similar role in mining (Underground) and mineral processing operations.
- Demonstrated leadership, performance development experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
