We have an exciting opportunity within our Engineering Department at our Clacton depot for a Depot Site Manager.
The Role
The Depot Site Manager's role is to function as DFO for Clacton Depot and Colchester Fuel Pad. Your duty is to maintain the safety and efficient operation of the Clacton facility in order to facilitate third-party maintenance and to provide professional guidance and consulting (as the future operator) for the Clacton Wheel lathe.
Duties of the role include managing the waste streams from the Clacton and Colchester Fuel Pads, collaborating with the Fleet North goods manager to procure any items needed, facilitating ad hoc activities and repairs to Clacton units, blockade, depot failures, and depot coordination between a third-party maintainer and the rest of Greater Anglia. You will also need to ensure competence of the Duty Site Managers and Technicians are up to date.
As Depot Site Manager, you will also be required to provide cover for the Duty Site Manager. This will include managing post-TyreTurning activities at numerous UK lathes on the 745 and 755 fleets, maintaining strict adherence to Quality & Safety norms, ensuring measures are in place to protect the employees' well-being, assuring that PGIs are finished and fulfil the standards specified in the SMS by the Duty Site Managers, and completing or expediting any outstanding Clacton Depot or Colchester FP tasks.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a colleague who has experience working in a subcontracted maintenance environment. You will have experience in managing colleagues and have proven ability to lead and support colleagues. An effective communicator with the ability to collaborate with other functions outside of engineering as well as the ability to write emails and reports. The ideal colleague will have experience of operating a lathe and hold relevant safety management qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH).
