We have a fantastic opportunity within our Finance team for a Procurement Manager. This is a full-time senior manager grade position working 37 hours per week, as a hybrid role, requirement to be at our HQ One Stratford Place a minimum of 2 days per week.
The Role
You will strategically lead and manage the procurement activity within defined spend areas in line with Utilities Contract Regulations.
Some of your role responsibilities will include:
- Development of procurement strategies including pricing and payment mechanisms, specific legal requirements for areas of responsibility
- Guide and support the business in application of /utilities contract regulations activities in line with the Greater Anglia procurement policies
- Directly lead on identified areas to drive savings, innovation and social and economic improvements from procurement activity.
- Act as Supplier Relationship Manager for specific contract arrangements.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts and contract amendments necessary to meet business requirements and National Rail Contract requirements
- Liaise with the key stakeholders including but no limited to Client Relations and the Department of Transport to obtain approval of Key Contracts in line with the National Rail Contract
- Contribute to the development of best practice within Greater Anglia and the wider Transport UK Group.
- Ensure contracts personally negotiated are registered and regularly updated within the contracts database.
- Regularly attend stakeholder departmental meetings to build relationships and gain knowledge of their forward requirements.
- Maintain an accurate forward pipeline for upcoming procurement activity within category area of responsibility
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with strong cradle to grave procurement experience across a wide range of goods and services, primarily within the indirect and direct category areas. A knowledge of construction related Procurement would be an advantage, but not essential. You would be working towards or hold Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Qualification (MCIPS).
Experience of tendering Utilities Contract Regulations or Public Contract Regulations. Sound commercial and financial awareness, with good working knowledge of contract law. You will have significant experience in internal stakeholder management and good communication and negotiating skills.
You will be required to work at pace and have the ability to multitask and manage several concurrent/conflicting projects and deadlines. Be able to work collaboratively with a range of individuals and teams in order to drive ongoing value for Greater Anglia.
