Role Details
- Shifts will take place between 05:00 am and 01:00 am, including a combination of early, late, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.
- You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts. Full training and a uniform are provided upon joining.
- Please note that applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
- It is a requirement that candidates can reliably travel to and from their agreed booking location at the scheduled times. Additionally, you should be prepared to work in all weather conditions and be on your feet for the majority of your shift.
- The salary for this position will be £31 525

About the Role:
As a Revenue Protection Officer at Greater Anglia, you will serve as the friendly face of our organisation, playing a vital role in ensuring a positive travel experience for our passengers. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks focused on fare enforcement and customer service, aiming to uphold our commitment to quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ticket Inspection: You will verify the validity of passengers' tickets, ensuring compliance with fare regulations.
- Fare Collection: If passengers are unable to show a valid ticket, you will collect fares, helping to maintain fair practices for all travellers.
- Penalty Fare Issuance: You will issue penalty fare notices to passengers found traveling without a valid ticket, reinforcing the importance of ticket compliance.
- Interviewing Fare Evaders: You may conduct interviews with individuals suspected of fare evasion, adhering to the guidelines set out in the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.
- Customer Service: Providing effective customer service. You will offer information about train schedules and assist passengers with local inquiries, enhancing their travel experience.
- Collaboration: In the course of your duties, you may work alongside the police and other agencies during joint operations. This may involve submitting reports and attending court when required to provide evidence.
As a Revenue Protection Officer, you will work closely with a partner, receiving comprehensive training in conflict management, customer service, and giving clear directions. Your ability to create a welcoming environment, even in challenging situations, will not only enhance passenger satisfaction but also bring you a rewarding sense of fulfilment. Day to day would be a mixture of working on trains or conducting revenue blocks at stations
