Infrastructure Manager – Costal Depots - Brighton

Keep the railway moving. Lead where it matters most.

At GTR, we don't just run trains—we keep millions of people connected, every single day. Behind that reliability are our depots: fast-paced, safety-critical environments where infrastructure performance is everything.

We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Manager to take ownership of infrastructure, facilities, and plant operations across our costal Depots, with a key focus on Selhurst supporting the wider Brighton network.

This is a high-impact leadership role where your decisions directly influence safety, performance, and the efficiency of one of the UK's busiest rail operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading all infrastructure and facilities activity across the depot environment
  • Managing and developing Team Leaders, in-house teams, and specialist contractors
  • Ensuring full compliance with safety legislation, standards, and company policies
  • Driving delivery of maintenance plans through the Infrastructure Asset Maintenance system
  • Procuring and overseeing third-party contracts to deliver high-quality services
  • Partnering with engineering and operational teams to optimise depot performance

What you'll bring

  • Chartered status in a relevant discipline (e.g. Building, Facilities Management)
  • Solid experience within the rail industry
  • At least 5 years in infrastructure, maintenance, or facilities management
  • A strong track record of leading teams in complex environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
  • A safety-first mindset (formal safety qualification is a plus)

Why join GTR?

  • Take on a pivotal leadership role in one of the UK's largest rail networks
  • Work in a dynamic, high-performance engineering environment
  • Be part of a culture built on safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Shape the future of depot infrastructure and operational reliability
  • Make a tangible impact on millions of passenger journeys

Ready to step up and lead from the front?

Join us and play a vital role in keeping our depots safe, efficient, and ready to power the railway—every day.
