Purpose of Role:
- Responsible for the full payroll provision for UK business units – ensuring accurate and timely processing of all pay and benefits, and compliance with applicable law and regulations.
Critical Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSEQ procedures
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
- Management of the outsourced payroll provision including new hires, leavers together with pay and employee benefits including allowances, insurance, pension, time off etc. Ensuring accuracy of employee payroll information.
- Management of the global mobility payroll including inpats, expats and secondees - shadow payrolls and ensuring compliance with all applicable payroll laws and internal policies.
- Work with global mobility team on all future hires and transferees, advising on statutory obligations.
- Facilitating all domestic and international BACs payments in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring all checks are completed within payroll timeframes.
- Process annual statutory reporting such as P11d etc.
- Develop and implement payroll processes and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy of payroll data.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees, and respond to payroll queries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Responsible for internal and external payroll audits
- Manage the outsourced payroll contract including review of annual contract, quarterly review meetings, monitoring of KPIs, periodic audits and annual budget.
- Responsible for ensuring the automated data transfer from the HR Management System (HRMS) and external portals ensuring payroll data security and accuracy. Working with HRIS on future automations and updates
- Produce payroll headcount budget and any reforecast data as requested by the finance team.
- Support finance team with the management of payroll journals from payroll provider.
- Collaborate with HR team, ensuring knowledge of payroll practices & legislation in conjunction with internal company policies (parental leave, absence etc)
- Support reward team in relation to management of employee benefits.
- Analyse and provide regular statistics to HR management including payment spend, demographics and trends.
- Prepare payroll data for executive compensation team including annual reports, CEO ratio and directors remuneration.
- Liaise with third party benefit providers where necessary (where there is an impact to payroll)
- Lead and develop payroll team members.
- Prepare termination calculations, and provide monthly reporting to finance as requested.
Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:
- Subject matter expert in payroll legislation, practices and regulation.
- Payroll qualification desired
- Previous experience at a similar level required
- Comprehensive understanding of UK and international tax and payroll laws
- Excellent PC skills including advanced Excel, Powerpoint and Power Bi skills
- Detail-orientated and analytical, with a focus on financial and numeracy skills
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Very strong attention to detail
- Understanding of Successfactors HRMS preferred
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
