Purpose of Role:

  • The Senior Asset Integrity Engineer plays a key role in leading, coordinating the delivery of an integrated asset Integrity management Programme across Pressure systems, Structures and Pipelines to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operations
  • The role provides technical input in Risk based decision making, Risk based inspection, integrity assessment, anomaly management and implementation of cost-optimized inspection and maintenance strategies that manage risk and prevent major accident hazards.
  • The Senior integrity Engineer plays a vital role coordinating the strategic work Programmes into annual prioritized scopes to ensure the safe, environmentally responsible, cost-effective and timely execution of the asset integrity inspection programme. The role will ensure the integrated team delivers all planned, corrective and remedial fabric and specialist vendors. Ensuring it is identified, prioritized and carried out to maintain the ongoing integrity of the asset and ensure safe operations
  • The role will further ensure the strategic direction of the asset-based team for ongoing asset integrity and developing optimisation strategies and implementing technology-driven solutions to enhance asset integrity management, improve efficiency, and support long-term asset reliability and compliance.

Critical Responsibilities (MAE/MATTE/HSES):

  • Ensure that all work identified by risk-based Programmes is prioritized and prepared for work execution in a timely manner and meet company’s planning process
  • Support company’s contracting companies enabling them to deliver the asset integrity management programme in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures
  • The Senior Asset Integrity Engineer will ensure the integrity of safety critical barriers by ensuring plant, equipment, pressure systems and pipelines are inspected, maintained and tested to prevent a loss of containment or structural failure
  • The Senior Asset Integrity Engineer will lead the integrated team in the identification assessment and communication of asset integrity risk ensuring regulatory and code compliance and the prevention of MAE, MATTE
  • Ensure as found anomalies of Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements are assessed and prioritized and defects are managed effectively and proactively for ongoing integrity and that inspection data (results, reports, drawings), are accurate and processed appropriately.

Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:

Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

  • For the technical integrity and delivery of the asset group risk-based Programmes
  • Leadership of a multi disciplined integrity team to mentor and coordinate technical delivery across Pressure systems structures and pipelines
  • Accountable for allocating workload, setting priorities and ensuring delivery against agreed plans and milestones
  • Accountable for strategic planning and defining annual budget to deliver an integrated asset integrity programme of work
  • Accountable for delivering the output of risk-based Programmes to ensure the inspection monitoring and testing activities are clearly defined in preparation for handover to delivery lead execution
  • Engaging with the multi discipline team of pressure systems structures and pipelines to ensure asset threats assessment are undertaken and risk are understood and effectively risk ranked and communicated
  • Accountable for Budget forecasting and Cost optimization across the asset group and track expenditure against budget reports and assess variances and optimization opportunities
  • Accountable for ensuring asset integrity performance is monitored and reported in line with defined KPIs dashboards, risk matrices and barrier health metrics
  • Accountable for driving continuous improvement in the asset integrity programs anomaly and defect management
  • Accountable for ongoing engagement and communication with Asset Operations Managers and Delivery Leads that ensures the asset integrity risk are effectively managed
  • Accountable for demonstrating ongoing leadership and implementing internal governance for the asset group that ensures ongoing performance of the integrated team
  • Accountable for the development and performance management of the integrated team.
  • Accountable for leading and always promoting Harbour core values within the integrated team and wider asset integrity team
  • Lead a small, multi-disciplinary integrity engineering team to deliver annual and multi-year asset integrity plans.
  • Own the integrity strategy and risk-based inspection (RBI) programmes for pipelines, structures, and pressure systems, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure effective management of as-found anomalies, including prioritisation, engineering assessment, repair recommendations, and close-out.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual integrity budgets and longer-term financial forecasts, balancing compliance, performance improvement, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead technical assessments relating to degradation mechanisms, remaining life, and fitness-for-service evaluations in line with relevant codes and standards.
  • Provide guidance on operational risk control, MAH barriers, integrity performance indicators, and the interpretation of inspection and monitoring data.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of integrity management systems, work processes, and reporting frameworks.
  • Ensure high-quality integrity records, data governance, and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate engagement with internal stakeholders, offshore/on-site teams, operations, maintenance, and planning functions to ensure timely delivery of integrity activities and work packs.
  • Prepare and present integrity status reports, risk presentations, and escalation material to senior leadership and regulatory bodies where required.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture, ensuring lessons learned, best practice, and innovation are adopted.
  • Develop optimisation and technology solutions that contribute to advancing asset integrity management
  • Contribute to the prioritisation, risk ranking and agree proposed Defect/Anomaly remediation
  • Maintain ONE inspection management through timely completion of inspection and anomaly reports.
  • Development of annual Asset AI plan.to support budget preparation and risk management and
  • For ensuring Risk based programme inspection work packs are competently prepared within the team, clear and meet gate criteria and that suitable sign off has taken place followed by the QA/QC of completed inspection work packs.
  • Be responsible for identifying and prioritizing the campaigned defect execution scopes for asset, bolting, Repair orders, Defined Life Repair work execution offshore via
  • Interface with project scopes involving asset integrity discipline support.
  • Responsible for identifying and prioritizing fabric maintenance programme including QA/QC of workmanship and completed work packs / programs.
  • Working closely with the wider Operations and Technical Services teams and asset Delivery Leads to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Experienced in leading and directing an integrated team with structured approaches to risk management and prioritization
  • Trained in leading / supporting technical investigations to establish root causes capable of preventing recurrence.
  • Consistently exercises robust technical judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of solutions to standard and non-standard technical problems whilst maintaining adherence to standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrates regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders to share and appraise, unblock constraints that help drive business performance.

Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:

  • Educated to engineering degree level or satisfactory e.g. HND/HNC plus preferable NDT qualifications/ experience and/or vocational certificates.
  • Track record of continuous professional development e.g. Chartered/Incorporated Engineer via a recognised engineering body
  • Shows understanding of Harbour Energy HSEQ Policies and Business Management System (BMS)
  • Experience in mechanical/asset integrity programs. and Conversant with UK regulatory environment, e.g. PSSR, PSR, Safety Case, verification etc.
  • Conversant with mechanical design codes and have ability to carry out fitness for service calculations.
  • Familiar with the operation of the Maintenance Management System.
  • Experience within inspection team environment. Displaying integrated team working
  • Accomplished planning and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and networking skills.
  • Occasional offshore travel where need to support the business and build relationships with asset management and work execution teams and OIEs
  • Track record of continuous professional development
