Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

Business area overview

Markets and Securities Services (MSS) is the “Investment Bank” for HSBC. The Global Cash Equities business is a key component within HSBC’s MSS division. As technology teams supporting this global business we use cutting edge technology and we strive to be devops in everything we do, with a strong emphasis on close engagement with our business, agile processes and continuous improvement. Our technology, and the team is highly regarded within Global Banking and Markets business and senior IT management.

We try to learn and review what we did in order to self-develop; overall we care and take pride in the technology solutions we deliver to the Equities business globally.

Who we are:

We are a global team of full stack development engineers building the next generation Cash Equities Trading platform. This platform is a global order management and algorithmic trading platform supporting the low touch electronic, algorithmic, portfolio and high touch trading desks around the globe. Our pods adhere to the DevOps ethos and work closely in partnership with the Equities traders. Everybody in the team will develop, release and support components of the system in production.

What we do:

We are building a next generation order management system with teams of full stack developers who will be a part of the global Cash Equities Trading development team formed of 23 pods globally (London, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Krakow, Pune, New York, Toronto) supporting a trading platform being used by sales and traders in US, London, Hong Kong, MENAT. We are looking for a strong tech lead with Equities OMS experience to run this development effort.

You will be responsible for managing the legacy OMS vendor stack as well as the design and implementation of the new in house developed replacement.
