We are currently seeking an ambitious and experienced individual to join our team as Head of Supply Chain Sustainability and Diversity – UK & Europe.
This exciting new role will focus on all Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects of the Supply Chain and relationships with regional and local suppliers of HSBC in the UK & Europe. It plays an important role in the delivery of HSBC’s sustainability commitments around Carbon Emissions, Responsible Consumption, Supplier Diversity, and Human Rights!
The role holder will work closely with the Global Head of Supply Chain Sustainability & Diversity to support them in implementing the strategy for a sustainable and diverse supply chain in their region, with the aim to make our supply chain Net Zero by 2030.
In this role, you will:
- Support the Regional Head of Procurement to develop a regional supply chain ESG strategy;
- Drive projects to address specific ESG issues, in support of delivery of objectives;
- Support goals on a regional and local level for responsible consumption, increased supplier diversity, improved ethical evaluation of our suppliers, and ensuring alignment with HSBC’s values when it comes to human rights;
- Support with the development of global, regional and local sourcing strategies that use our competitive position, and balance cost and sustainability benefits;
- Support with the development of regional/local sustainability strategies that align with business objectives, customer requirements, and HSBC Sustainability commitments;
- Engage with local ESG teams and regional suppliers to ensure ESG frameworks, practices and procedures are employed, escalating issues as required;
- Act as an SME on sustainability, industry/global standards and best practice, and the escalation point for local ESG issues;
- Act as an SME on region specific supply chain ESG requirements and best practice including the external environment e.g. legal and regulatory developments;
- Act as primary point of contact for local suppliers with respect to ESG compliance/understanding issues;
- Lead the collation of performance data and the associated reporting from local country leads through the regional governance framework;
- Lead or participate in regional and local SteerCos and working groups.
