We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior SSAS Pension Administrator
The role of the Senior Pension Administrator - RBWM is to be responsible for undertaking administration on a portfolio of SSAS Pension schemes.
In addition to your main responsibility, you will work closely with junior and new members of staff, coaching and training on role specific tasks, including but not restricted to; checking calculations, allocating work, signing off administration and ensuring deadlines are met.
You will also need to work closely with the Head of SSAS Consultancy and Administration to resolve technical HMRC queries relating to complex cases. This will also require to carry out the agreed actions required to resolve situations that have arisen where pension scheme member trustees’ actions pose a risk to the beneficiaries of the scheme and the Scheme Administrator.
The role will also require you to take on related project work from time to time, such as aiding in the implementation of new pensions administration software. Ensuring that you are able multi-task and prioritise this work alongside your BAU activities, without the need for constant close management from your seniors in the team.
Your deployment on project work will vary from time to time and the level of autonomy required will also vary in line with instructions from the Head of SSAS Administration and Consultancy and the Head of the Retirement Customer journey, as appropriate. You will need to take responsibility for completing the project work assigned and ensure reporting of both your progress and the projects progression to the relevant senior leader.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that the successful candidate has a proven background in SSAS pension administration and consultancy and a thorough knowledge of pension rules and regulations.
In this role, you will:
- Dealing with technical client issues and attend meetings with existing SSAS clients and their professional advisers.
- Assisting with SSAS Property purchase and sales and ongoing property management.
- Processing investments in Private Company Shares
- Processing Loanbacks
- Completion of Pension Scheme Returns.
- Completion of Event Reports as appropriate.
- Completion of ¼ly returns as appropriate.
- Liaison with the Pensions Regulator and completion of their annual returns.
- Liaison with the Information commissioner and completion of their requirements.
- Undertake benefit calculations and arrange payment.
- Process Transfers out and scheme wind up.
- Arrange payment of death benefits.
- Settle benefits following a member’s divorce
- Process Investment transactions
- Day to day SSAS pension administration
- Coaching and training junior and new members of staff
- Client meeting preparation, support and Consultancy delivery as required.
- As a Consultant you may be required to manage a portfolio of SSAS Schemes.
- Allocate work.
- Reviewing and up-dating procedures with close liaison with various internal teams
