We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Lead Operations Manager, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
Role Purpose
The Senior operations manager will work within the SPS Head of Operations team which has been allocated change-the-bank (CTB) funding, to support an extensive portfolio of target operating model (TOM) and service line change projects and initiatives. All of these changes have a significant, and outward impact on our customer’s experience (both HSBC staff and suppliers to HSBC) of the SPS function.
The Senior operations manager role is responsible for developing strategies and actionable recommendations for improvement of the procurement function.
In this role, you will:
- Be accountable for ensuring Strategic Procurement Services (SPS) meets its business plans
- Provide expertise related to leading practices in purchasing and payables
- Lead purchasing and payables process redesign efforts
- Evaluate and write purchasing and payables policies
- Interact daily and develop relationships with Stakeholder at multiple levels
- Coordinate multiple work streams of procurement (i.e. purchasing and payables) to ensure consistency across (1) vision and strategy; (2) policy and process; (3) technology; and (4) organization
- Manage and develop others on the project team
- Create, review, and edit work plans
- Contribute to team development, effectiveness and success by sharing knowledge and good practice, working collaboratively with others to create a productive, diverse and supportive working environment
- Develop and maintain status reports
