We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Global Head of Commercial Card Product Management, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
Role Purpose
Global Liquidity and Cash Management is a major product group for HSBC, generating over 10% of Group revenues. The success of this business is strongly dependent on the development, execution and commercialization of the suite of transaction banking products.
Commercial cards are key to this growth strategy with double digit revenue growth targets and an aggressive digitization and commercialisation agenda. The product management head will be responsible for:
- Product Management: Ensuring product approvals, regulation and governance are achieved globally and supporting each region in achieving full compliance with our product management framework.
- Leading key strategic partnerships: Selected key strategic partners to grow our B2B cards payments reach, negotiating agreements, onboarding and commercialisation the partnership.
- Pricing Strategy, commercialization and marketing of Global Commercial Cards.
- Oversight of Commercial Cards Product risk mitigation
The role covers all Global Commercial Card Products; reporting into the Global Head of Commercial Cards. The incumbent will work closely with the regional Commercial Cards heads, the regional GLCM product heads and the lines of business across Commercial Banking and Global Banking, to execute and commercialize the product strategy.
In this role, you will:
- Provide overall global oversight to formulate short and long-term product strategies leveraging regional Product execs to provide insight and clarity of regional and local customer needs and the regulatory environment.
- Define and drive global innovation within the commercial card product suite. Lead the digitization of the cards product lines, with a focus on virtual cards, user experience, mobile, self-service and real-time API’s.
- Align and prioritise IT Investment requirements during the AOP & SBI planning process, particularly with the global programs inclusive of both Global Banking & Markets and Commercial Banking.
- Lead and develop a small team focused on product management, partnerships and commercialisation.
- Drive improvements in business profitability through the implementation of standardized metric based management process covering all aspects of product performance including cost accounting and financial risk management.
- Develop and drive specific commercialization activities; creating tools to support sales and client service teams in educating and marketing of our global payment product capabilities.
- Identify and lead collaboration opportunities with select industry partners and/or fintech’s to enhance our own propositions and/or identify new payments flows and revenue streams.
- Develop and execute a global product-centric market analysis to determine longer term product strategies affecting client buying behaviour, competitors, and to anticipate shifts in the market.
- Drive effective interaction across organizational boundaries, including sales, client services, marketing, operations, IT, Legal, and Compliance to deliver optimized customer experiences.
- Manage regional payment product management executives across several geographies to execute our product programs in support of our client groups.
- Develop and maintain good contact with the external Global Liquidity and Cash Management market, e.g., partner organizations like RBWM, industry associations, customers, competitors, regulators etc. to ensure that our strategy remains relevant and effective.
- Manage product operating risk ensure appropriate risk oversight and mitigants are effective and sustainable.
