Salary: Up to £27,924 depending on skills and experience

The Role

A vacancy has arisen to recruit an Administration Clerk within the Operations Centre.

The purpose of the role is to support the Admin Controller and the Shift Manager, Operations in providing a high standard of general administration throughout the Operations Centre.  To assist in areas where support is required with particular regard to the Operations Centre counter.

Key Requirements

  • Computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel etc)
  • Experience in database management, document control, and electronic record keeping
  • Sound knowledge of office administration procedures and best practises
  • A good working knowledge of the Port is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach
  • An understanding of company procedures including health & safety throughout the office environment.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is an advantage.
  • Holds a full, clean UK driving licence
  • 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths

  • Skilled in providing high-quality customer service and front-line support to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to different audiences.
  • Communicates clearly, confidently, and professionally with colleagues, management and external contacts using telephone, email and two-way UHF/VHF radio.
  • Demonstrates resilience and adaptability in a noisy and busy environment whilst remaining professional
  • Manages multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to exercise sound judgement in prioritising workload.
