Role Purpose

As the Head of Business Development UK (Trading, Data and Connectivity) you will lead the identification, creation, and management of new business relationships with strategic clients, building lasting, revenue generating relationships which result in sales opportunities. This role is accountable for both the growth of revenue across TDC and the leadership and development of an experienced team of successful and well established Business Development Managers. The measurement of success being the protection and growth of sustainable revenue.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on...

  • Driving and supporting revenue generating activity for the team, ensuring both revenue and activity targets are met in line with Iress’ commercial ways of working. These sales opportunities will include the conversion of prospects into clients, and driving recurring revenue uplift through increased usage and software licences and through cross selling additional solutions from the Iress product suite.

  • Developing and leading a small team of high performing Business Development managers and Pre Sales Consultant.

  • Understanding how to map prospects and processes, identifying and building relationships with key C suite stakeholders within new prospects and clients, and recognising and working through blockers in order to win new business.

  • Ensuring Iress is well positioned to attract new strategic clients through a deep understanding of their current business priorities, challenges and strategy.

  • Working closely with regional and global Product, Client Solutions & Support teams to inform and share client requirements and trends to influence the future strategy and roadmap.

  • Driving marketing and thought leadership initiatives across the segment in collaboration with the communications & marketing team. Key areas being roadmap campaigns, proposition collateral and business content to support propositions.

  • Encouraging and supporting the continued adoption and usage of Iress’ commercial ways of working and sales and service tools such as our global CRM system, client servicing proposition and opportunity and activity reporting.

Be an inspirational leader who can generate loyalty and trust whilst driving change. You’ll need to be a natural networker and strategic relationship builder with excellent contacts across the Trading & Market Data industry which you can leverage and call upon to aid in the success of your role.

You will be highly strategic, with excellent commercial acumen and be able to contribute to broader business conversations across Iress’ leadership team. You’ll bring with you a proven track record of leading client-facing teams and delivering against targets, with the ability to coach and mentor others to achieve results in a constantly changing environment.

Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation and organisational skills are key and you’ll have gained these within Financial Services, in particular the Trading industry, in a variety of client facing, revenue generating roles.

You will be a modern thinker, who looks to the future, striving for better ways of working whilst ensuring practical and commercial outcomes are achieved in the present.
