Role Purpose

To develop, simplify and continuously improve the Iress software engineering capability we are currently on the lookout for a Technical Lead's to join our Mortgages Team. This is a hands-on role that focuses on building and enhancing engineering capabilities, improving technical practices and helping shape the future of our approaches, platforms and frameworks.

Accountabilities & Deliverables

  • Supporting delivery teams through advice, coaching, leadership and enablement of Engineers

  • Identify opportunities and risks for delivering our engineering capabilities

  • Identify technology trends and evolving consumer behaviour that may support or impede the success of the business

  • Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms for delivering our solutions and product offerings

  • Take a leadership role in the development and execution of an enterprise-wide information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s data and information systems

  • Review current practices for the selected development frameworks and assist in establishing and implementing the initial architecture for new services, solutions or products

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software engineering best practices

  • Help ensure that technology standards and approaches are consistent and maintained within Iress

  • Communicate the technology strategy to others within Iress, including technology people and teams as well as other stakeholders

Key Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of technical architecture, software engineering and infrastructure

  • Previous experience in “dev-ops” and continuous delivery

  • High degree of technical competency (strong engineering foundation) with a passion around execution and delivery

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and able to translate complex technical subjects for a diverse audience and all levels of management

  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and collaborate with other functional leaders to provide positive outcomes

  • Must be willing to get their hands dirty and create functional innovative product designs and experiences

  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining team clarity and purpose

  • Must have good interpersonal, influencing and organisational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple workloads and prioritise appropriately
