About MSO

MSO is the leading Mortgage Sales and Originations platform in the UK working across Brokers and Lenders of all sizes to deliver multiple user journeys for mortgage applications. Our first mission is to make mortgage applications easier for everyone.

Role Purpose

Passionate about software engineering and writing top-quality code? Yes, so are we!

We’re looking for Engineers to join our team of full-stack, cake-loving developers. You’ll be building high-quality solutions, supported by our test automation strategy, to deliver an end-to-end mortgage product for banks and building societies. You’ll be involved from inception to development to production, and using Kanban methodologies, you’ll maintain & own our delivery pipeline, taking responsibility for delivering a great experience to the end user, ultimately making our clients advocates of our software.

You’ll be creating software to help clients source mortgage products with ease and speed. Quality is key for us! As part of the team, you’ll conduct quality reviews of your own deliverables and deliverables from peers, taking part in regular code reviews and suggesting ideas for improvements or positive changes.

As well as designing and developing new features, you’ll also get involved in resolving issues, defects and queries raised at any phase of development or production. You’ll consistently provide outstanding client support in a professional manner and ensure some of the more technical elements are understood by those who may not be in technical roles.

To be successful in this role you will…

First and foremost, you’ll need to have a passion for creating desirable, usable and high-quality software.

In an ideal world, you’d have commercial experience in a Full-stack / Front-end Development role working on UI, API and databases, with strong experience in C# .Net, Angular, JavaScript and ideally SQL Server.

Communication is key. We need a team player, who is comfortable working in an Agile cross-functional delivery team, liaising with your own team and internal stakeholders.

Experience working with CI/CD tools and some knowledge of Cloud technologies would also be highly beneficial.

Self-motivation and the ability to work using your own initiative are really important and you’ll be comfortable putting forward ideas to streamline and improve processes and take a 'fail fast' approach.

Why work with us?

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

  • 8 additional paid days per year to extend your weekends

  • Global opportunities

  • State-of-the-art offices

  • Free on-site gym in our Cheltenham office open 24/7

  • Casual dress, flexible work policy

  • Access to various learning and development programs

  • 3 days’ leave per year for charity initiatives

  • Global 36-hour hackathon

  • Up to 26 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers (up to 4 weeks for secondary carers), and the ability to work part-time when returning to working to work
