As a Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Regulatory Controls & Operational Risk Technology within Corporate Tech, you will play a vital role in developing and enhancing platforms for regulatory tracking and management. You will work as an individual contributor in an agile team, leveraging your coding skills to deliver secure, stable, and scalable solutions. Your work will support multiple regulatory business functions and drive the firm’s business objectives. You will collaborate with diverse teams, solve complex challenges, and help advance our technology strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Code in Java or Python to build and enhance regulatory controls and operational risk platforms
  • Apply Terraform and AWS experience to develop secure, scalable applications
  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain code that runs synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met
  • Gather insights for continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products
  • Support deployment and maintenance of applications

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with solid applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Java or Python programming experience, including building event-driven microservices and Kafka streaming
  • Experience with AWS services in public cloud infrastructure
  • Proficiency in RDBMS concepts and SQL querying
  • Hands-on skills with Terraform
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Utilize AI tools as part of software development and deliverables
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience with regulatory technology or operational risk platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of financial services industry standards
  • Exposure to microservices architecture
  • Ability to mentor and support team members
  • Interest in continuous learning and professional development
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD tools
