Control Management (CM) maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the firm. With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk. The role will be part of the Corporate & Investment Bank CM – Program team.
NBIA – Control Management, is responsible for supporting the New Business Initiative Approval (NBIA) Program and Change Management; established to provide a consistent framework to assess risks of new products, services and businesses before they are launched. The position entails overseeing an EMEA portfolio of new initiatives in the Program, ensuring they are being properly risk-assessed in a manner that supports the business’ commercial priorities and functions’ control considerations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Advisory: Provide guidance on NBIA program applicability, scope & governance and partner with business, functional and control partners to advise on and navigate through grey areas of policy and procedures
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Business partners to understand new products / services and ensure initiatives can flow through program optimally
- Functional partners to ensure engagement is aligned to existing and imminent changing of expectations / needs
- Regional partners to understand any evolving regional requirements (e.g., regulatory, etc.) and ensure product change process is in alignment
- Portfolio Management: Consult daily dashboard of metrics to monitor portfolio performance and emerging trends; use data to inform follow ups, escalation, next steps, program changes, etc.
- Strategic Change: Identify opportunities to enhance NBIA and Product / Service Change Management experience from a process, governance, reporting, training and/or technology perspective; partner with NBIA team and NBIA Pilot Committee to design and implement change
Key Skills and Qualifications
- 6-8 years professional work experience
- Knowledge of the broader financial institutions landscape, ideally the candidate will have an understating of products and markets in which the CIB operates
- Project and process management skills, including proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to succinctly communicate complex issues
- Ability to forge strong internal relationships across a broad range of businesses, functions and regions
