Wholesale Payments – Global Clearing Product Solutions Specialist – Associate (London)

Global Clearing: The Global Clearing Product Management team within Treasury Services is responsible for the day-to-day management, development and delivery of J.P Morgan’s USD, EUR, GBP and CLS high-value clearing services. Global Clearing is a line of JPMorgan’s business that moves over $3tn worth of wholesale payments every day. Similar to the retail payment industry familiar to us as consumers, the wholesale industry is at the peak of a technological evolution with a focus on digitizing payments, designing client-centric user interfaces, providing real-time analytics, and doing all of this cheaper, faster and more secure than ever before.
The Global Clearing Product Solutions Specialist Associate will be responsible for supporting and driving continued growth of the Global Clearing & FX payments product suite. Working alongside more senior members of the Product Solutions Specialist team, the associate will be engaged in executing commercialization strategies, proactive client analysis, responding to client RfPs (Requests for proposals), developing multi-product solutions and pricing models, as well as participating in client meetings and forums. As such, the role involves working with Wholesale Payments FIG Sales, Product Management, Business Management and Client Service teams to ensure the appropriate coordination and growth of the defined segments (including Banks, Broker Dealers, neo-banks/digital banks, NBFIs and FinTech firms).
In addition, the individual will have to speak to new technologies and innovations that are driving change in the payments landscape, such as APIs, Blockchain technology (eg. J.P. Morgan’s Liink) and industry-wide initiatives such as SWIFT gpi and ISO 20022. Key Responsibilities:
- Driving continued growth of the Global Clearing & FX payments product suite
- Data analysis for both client specific requests and to help proactively identify new revenue opportunities in the FI segment
- Responding to detailed/technical elements of client RfPs and pricing client deals for payments & clearing services
- Pipeline management – driving new business opportunities from origination to closure in partnership with FI Sales.
- Client & Senior management presentations – responsible for creating materials to present to clients and/or senior management
- Develop compelling segment specific value propositions and proposals that will also drive marketing efforts & ensuring client marketing collateral is of a first-class standard
- Close coordination with the Global Clearing Product Solutions Specialist team, Wholesale Payments FI Sales, Product Management and Business Management
- Participating in client meetings as the Subject Matter Experts (both in-person & virtual) to deliver updates on our client value propositions in the payments space, including on J.P. Morgan’s innovation agenda and key industry themes
- Sales education - delivering product updates/overviews and training sessions to the FI Sales teams
Key Attributes/qualifications
- Prior product management or sales experience preferred in the domain of cash management/cross-border payments
- Strong knowledge of correspondent banking, cross-border payments and FX payments
- Excellent analytical skills; strong Excel and PowerPoint skills essential
- Exceptional writing, verbal communication and client facing skills required
- Very strong presentation skills, with ability to lead client pitches
- Adept at developing & maintaining collaborative relationships with key internal business partners, whilst working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task as this role supports global functions
- Proactive, takes ownership of initiatives from the start; sees through to completion
