This role requires a wide range of strengths and capabilities, including:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Expert knowledge in all business processes across an entire line of business, as well expertise in other lines of business and technology disciplines
- Understanding of global and line of business project and program management standards and methods
- Experience working with high-performing teams in complex program execution
- Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile methods; stakeholder management; budget management, risk management and operations
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the firm
The Infrastructure Architect and Manager function provides Architectural Governance, Project Delivery Oversight and Utilization Analytics to manage the infrastructure assets in order to maintain a cost effective, secure, and resilient infrastructure stack. This position is with JP Morgan Chase Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) Core Transaction Services (CTS) Group, as part of Global Technology and Payments. The position is part of a small central team, as part of the Application Development organization.
Major Responsibilities include:
- Manage all infrastructure planning (both servers and storage)
- Own modernization plans for applications, including move to Cloud
- Create and maintain infrastructure blueprints for all applications. Work with Application development teams to create them.
- Plan and update underlying infrastructure planning and management tools
- Engage with infrastructure teams as and when required
- Help the wider payments technology teams with their modernization journey
- Assisting in solution architecture design
- Lead blueprint implementation & repave across payments technology
- Run POC’s for containerization of various applications
- Educate Application Development Teams on available infrastructure products, and actively engage with the App. Dev. teams as a service provider
- Financial Management and Governance: Management of forecast plan to deliver infrastructure for key business capabilities and prioritization of spend reduction. Control of baseline costs to achieve financial targets. Address and remediate billing anomalies.
- Monthly infrastructure reviews with key constituents on: Product volume consumption; financial variance to targets; project re-prioritization & modelling of $ impact
- Create and provide executive updates on topics such as Modernization and Data Center Migration
