An opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join the London based Compliance Team that covers the EMEA Payments business, within J.P. Morgan's Corporate & Investment Bank.
About the role
The EMEA Payments Compliance team, working in partnership with the regional and global Payments Compliance teams and other control functions, supports the Payments business in the region and is responsible for: (i) assessing regulatory risk and supporting the Business in mitigating those risks (ii) oversight of the Business, monitoring of products and services, and raising credible challenge where deficiencies in controls are identified; (iii) reviewing new deals and initiatives from a regulatory risk perspective; (iv) helping the Business maintain a positive relationship with regulators; and (v) oversight of employee compliance and conduct.
In this role you will:
- Support Compliance integration of fintech businesses acquired by the Payments business, including policy implementation and target operating model alignment
- Participate in the assessment of new business proposals (products, services and systems) in light of new and existing regulations, policies, and procedures before, during and after their design and implementation
- Work in partnership with key stakeholders (such as central Compliance teams or Country Compliance Officers, Business Managers and Business Control Officers), to support ongoing business control processes and business governance
- Organise training, educational bulletins and other means to communicate on important Compliance and Conduct topics
- Monitor business processes and activities against regulatory and policy requirements and participate in ongoing second line risk assessment.
- As necessary, provide a pro-active and re-active day-to-day advisory service in relation to regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures, best practice guidelines and reputational matters which impact the Business
Experience/Skills:
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate most or all of the following experience, capabilities and skills:
- Experience in a control function in an Investment Bank, or experience with Payments products (e.g. cash management, payments, liquidity or Trade Finance products)
- Strong, succinct, and clear communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects
- Determination, energy and enthusiasm; self starter and strongly motivated to achieve higher standards over time
- Proven experience of collaborating globally and across multiple functions ideally in a large financial organisation
- Good Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to handle competing priorities and work in a pressurised environment.
Regulatory and Compliance experience including knowledge of UK regulation and pan-EEA regulations will be advantageous but is not a mandatory requirement.
