In the Cleared Derivatives Technology space (CDT) we are looking for an analyst programmer with proven ability to turn business requirements into software solutions. Core IBM i (iSeries / AS/400) development skills are required; knowledge of FIS Global GMI platform, XML, MQ and Java would be desirable. The role requires good communication skills as the individual will be expected to work as part of a globally distributed application development team partnering closely with middle and back office users.
We are looking to maintain and enhance the GMI application which provides key trade clearing services within the CDT environment and integrates closely with many other applications, and support the transition of the application landscape to a cloud and hybrid environment.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
- Analyze business requirements specifications.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications.
- Write and maintain technical specifications according to functional specifications.
- Build application software in line with technical specifications.
- Create implementation plans and manage implementations.
- Follow specified procedures throughout software life cycle using standard workflow tools.
- Work closely with other application teams and business groups.
- Collaborate across the wider CDT space on shared technology solutions.
- Record/document information within our knowledge database.
- Communicate effectively with business users, sponsors and other application development teams.
- Be pro-active in helping to drive projects to success.
- Be adaptable to changing demands and technologies required within the work streams.
Key Skills
- Experience of full software development project life cycle
- Extensive knowledge of IBM i OS / OS/400, CL, modern RPG, ILE, SQL
- Proficient to link business needs to technical solutions.
- Manage the implementation of solutions to complex problems independently.
- Proficient in delivering multiple concurrent tasks end-to-end to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good understanding of problem management methodologies.
Preferable Skills
- Knowledge of FIS Global GMI platform.
- Exchange traded derivatives or Investment Banking business background. Specifically Futures & Options / OTC.
- XML – Xpath, XQuery, XSLT and industry standard XML formats such as FIXML and FpML.
- IBM MQ.
- IBM i change management software (Aldon LMi / Turnover).
- Java development on IBM i platform.
