JPMorgan’s Chief European Economist has primary responsibility for the development, coordination and marketing of our macroeconomic and policy research in the European time zone.
Reporting to the Chief Economist in New York, the Chief European Economist will manage a team of economists across the time zone who contribute to our top-rated global economics effort. Together the team generate market leading insights in close partnership with economists and strategists across the globe and serves clients across the entire spectrum of JPMorgan’s business.
This challenging role requires the Chief Economist to maintain a high public profile and close contact with policymakers.
Key responsibilities
- Generate macroeconomic and policy views for Europe
- Contribute to global economics and strategy products
- Manage European economics team
- Establish strong profile with firm clients
Skills and experiences relevant for the role include:
- Graduate degree in Economics
- Proven track record producing macroeconomic research
- Management experience, preferably an economics team
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
