J.P. Morgan’s Alternative Credit Syndicate business sits within the Investment Bank’s Credit Markets business. This dynamic team is instrumental in financing corporate capital requirements, including working capital, capital projects, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and dividend recapitalizations. Transactions involve high-level interaction with senior bankers across product and industry groups as well as with executive management within client firms.

As an Associate in Alternative Credit Syndicate, you will work with experienced professionals at one of the world's leading global investment banks. The Analyst / Associate will focus on analyzing and identifying optimal and marketable capital structure solutions for the client. They will be responsible for deal coordination efforts across internal and external parties including coverage, credit, legal and client teams.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing business diligence, financial modeling and financial statement analysis;

  • Coordinating communication across numerous internal and external stakeholders, particularly with debt capital markets, public and private side sales, and trading;

  • Interacting primarily with investor clients but also with borrowing clients throughout the lifecycle of a transaction;

  • Conducting industry and product research as well as comparable analysis;

  • Determining cash flow and asset-based debt capacity based on a wide range of business models;

  • Driving the preparation of customized term sheets, capital markets and credit approval packages and marketing materials;

  • Preparing investor marketing materials and participate in investor meetings;

  • The role also requires strong awareness of the control function given the ongoing navigation of the public/private remit.


  • Significant experience in Markets, Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Credit Risk or related fields is preferred;

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information and help develop innovative client solutions;

  • Experience with private credit transactions preferred, as well as previous background with Infrastructure deal flow/investors;

  • Ability to work in a team environment;

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;

  • Well organized and able to efficiently manage projects with minimal supervision;

  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and meet time sensitive deadlines;

  • Excellent presentation skills; comfortable presenting to client senior management, investors and senior members of the firm;

  • Willingness to travel to meet investors and/or for deal specific purposes.

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
