As the Global Governance Control Manager Associate, you will be involved working with Control Managers globally and the wider business to establish, drive and optimise control governance and establish and maintain mechanisms that identify and quantify operational risk. You will be responsible for delivering enriched data, reporting, information and materials to support the Business Control environment and identifying and implementing process improvements for Business control processes/frameworks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leading the continuous process improvement of the Governance function and related control frameworks and continue to promote the team as a “go to” partner representing the Control Management function across functional areas (reporting, projects, regional controls)
  • Partnering with the Global Lead to increase transparency of value to the business
  • Build relationships across the supported Business areas to drive the Controls agenda
  • Proactively breaks down organizational barriers to increase productivity and eliminate bureaucracy
  • Owning key Governance forums/Information Feeds
    • Business Control Committees (BCCs) / Business Control Forums (BCFs) / Environmental & Social Governance Forum
  • Help define the agenda and determine meeting materials
  • Ensuring timely sourcing of control partner’s information
  • Driving consistency and leveraging central materials for other Controls forums
  • Escalate and highlight to Business Heads key controls and risks
  • Identifying Control and risk items, challenging the business and Control Managers

Improving Analytics

  • Utilise Innovation tools (Alteryx, Tableau, Signavio etc) to produce tactical and strategic reporting on key risk and control data
  • Enrich current risk and control data to help identify trends and/or assist the business in overseeing certain control activity
  • Understand opportunities for leverage within CIB, feedback and manage CM requirements
  • Produce, present and maintain senior materials giving clear insight into the current risk posture of the business
  • Support Deep dive of issues and risk events to ensure all control gaps are highlighted and appropriate actions taken.
  • Identify opportunities for Process Improvement and leverage Innovation tools to assist with the implementation of any agree solutions

Required Skills and Preferred Experience:

  • Understanding of the finance industry regulatory environment and impact on business strategy desirable, but a keen interest required
    • Relevant years experience in the Financial Services industry, with a strong understanding of the products and markets in which the CIB operates
    • Experience working with the regulatory agenda
    • Experience in a controls related role
  • Exceptional Communication Skills:
    • Ability to liaise with senior management and communicate at an appropriate level
    • Attention to detail with the ability to succinctly communicate requirements to LoBs with appropriate presentation materials
    • Ability to interpret issues raised then prioritize and communicate to senior management and other key stakeholders regarding resolution plans and expectations
    • Proven experience in producing regulator ready materials. Ensuring documentation satisfies regulatory requirements and internal business objectives in a clear and concise manner.

    • Report/SharePoint Design preferable
    • Strong working knowledge of end to end flows of at least 1 CIB product class/process
