Equity Research partners with Sales, Sales Trading and Trading teams globally to deliver timely thought leadership, and builds strong relationships with external clients and corporate management teams. Our insights and relationships are leveraged by multiple internal stakeholders, including Investing Banking, Prime Services, and Derivatives.


We are looking for an Analyst or Associate level candidate to join our European Oil and Gas Equity Research team in London. With some professional experience, you should have an interest in equities, markets, companies and thematic trends and demonstrate a passion for building expertise in the Oil and Gas sector. The role will have a focus in two primary areas. Firstly, fundamental analysis of European Oil & Gas equities and, secondly, of key macro-economic themes within Global Energy.

You will be working within our top-ranked team under the mentorship and guidance of the senior analysts developing thought-leading company, sector and thematic reports, and delivering the team’s stock and sector insights to our institutional clients.

In addition to your direct team responsibilities, you will be part of a network of inquisitive, smart, and collaborative individuals who have gained significant responsibility and exposure at an early career stage. We provide extensive department-wide training and professional development to support career growth, hosted by a combination of external experts and our own senior analysts - designed to broaden both your skill set and your personal connections from within and beyond the department.

What we value:

  • Buy side and/or sell side broking experience.
  • Quantified accountant and/or CFA
  • Strong academic background.
  • Energy industry experience (e.g. corporate, consulting) – optional
  • Established modelling track-record including ability to work with large datasets and demonstrate a clear sense of ownership on data integrity.
  • Teamwork orientated including effective priority management and a deadline driven focus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, with the written and oral presentation skills that can deliver clear and concise messages to a broad range of clients and internal stakeholders.
