J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management (AWM), is a global leader in investment and wealth management. The AWM Business Resiliency (AWM BR) organization, in partnership with the business, is responsible for the strategy, management and delivery of the AWM Business Resiliency Program which includes: development of business resiliency strategies, coordination of testing of recovery capabilities and coordination of crisis management within JP Morgan Asset Wealth Management (AWM).
The Asset & Wealth Management Business Resiliency (AWM BR) team is part of the broader AWM Operations Control Management (AWM OCM) organization with a global presence spanning North America (NAMR), EMEA, APAC. AWM BR partners with Firmwide Business Resiliency (FBR) and other key stakeholders, to influence and execute against firmwide objectives, in support of the firm’s and AWM’s resiliency strategy.
AWM is transforming the way it manages Business Resiliency, leveraging efforts underway as part of the firmwide Business Resiliency Uplift Program (BRUP) launched earlier last year, to deliver the body of work required to provide JPMC with a comprehensive Business Resiliency program which aligns with internal and supervisory expectations. As AWM BR continues to evolve as an organization, there is an increased focus on delivering programs/projects/initiatives that will enable the group to achieve its interim & strategic objectives as well as a constant need to ensure that all relevant stakeholders are executing on the right priorities at all times.
Scope and Overall Purpose of Role:
This individual is responsible for leading the design, development, execution and oversight of business continuity plans, crisis and incident management, recovery from business interruptions, and operational resilience. The position requires applied experience in leading a global program at scale with demonstrated experience in business continuity, disaster management and recovery, crisis management, and operational resilience in the financial services industry or other federally regulated industry; regulatory and executive stakeholder relationship management and change management experience.
The successful candidate will lead a global team of professionals and work with the firm’s Resilience teams, AWM’s operating committee and other senior leaders to deliver an industry leading Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery discipline and practice.
The purpose of this role is to act as a trusted advisor on resilience to the AWM CEO and management teams. The role covers resiliency front-to-back across the AWM businesses including third party providers (i.e. business, operations, technology and functions). The role requires the development of a sustainable resiliency framework to identify potential resiliency events and identification/remediation of vulnerabilities. Significant influencing, collaboration and leadership skills across the organization will be critical to the success of the role.
You Will:
- Lead and direct the governance and execution of the AWM Business Resiliency Program including operational resilience strategy, policies and procedures, and its critical assets (people, buildings, utilities, technologies, and business operations), to achieve internal objectives and meet global requirements.
- Enhance the global Business Resilience practices with a clearly outlined strategy, design, and implementation that is approved by AWM Management.
- Support the existing governance boards and oversight mechanisms including attending board meetings, where appropriate, present resilience topics and own actions items and focus areas as appropriate.
- Input into the responses to regulatory bodies and address any potential regulatory matters. Act as an integrator for connecting disparate parts of the organization.
- Enhance and lead the incident management practice to promptly and effectively plan for and recover capabilities when disruptions occur to business activities across AWM.
- Maintain and govern the Business Resiliency Plan Inventory, data, and linkage included in the AWM’s Business Resiliency capabilities. Leverage the firmwide business resiliency team to support strategic enterprise and business-specific initiatives, efficiency, effectiveness, and various regulatory obligations.
- Understand and apply internal policies/procedures, laws and regulations, and industry best practices with respect to business continuity and disaster recovery including: FFIEC, OCC, FINRA, Federal Reserve, BoE, PRA, Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII), and Business Continuity Institute (BCI).
- Define AWM priorities for continuity planning and recovery of Essential business services and related impact tolerances.
- Design, enhance and report key operational metrics that evaluate the effectiveness of the AWM BR program, provide early and timely detection and reporting, and support the escalation and remediation of risks or issues.

- 10+ years of Strategy and Planning experience.
- 5+ years of Management experience.
- Prior knowledge of Resiliency and/or Crisis Management, a plus.
- Exceptional influencing skills and the ability to influence at multiple levels of the organization including C Suite.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large volumes of data and boil it down to the salient and actionable points for senior management.
- Strong communicator with the ability to communicate technical information in a format that is consumable by a non-technical audience.
- Collaborative, able to drive to agreement across varying stakeholders/interests.
- Demonstrated ownership mentality with proven ability to scale from managing a small-scale, local crisis to a large-scale, global event.
- Knowledge of operations, technology, and business processes within a global financial services organization or other industry regulated by the federal government.
- Demonstrated knowledge of emerging threats and changes in processes/technology and how they impact continuity and recovery strategies. Proven experience establishing a large-scale vision, developing the strategy to support the vision, gaining consensus across key functional leaders through effective communication, and driving the vision to closure through the effective management of goals and objectives.
