The Finance and Business Management organization is seeking a highly talented Executive Director to lead the Data Solutions and Product Development Control Management function. The role will report directly to a Securities Services Business Control lead.
You will be successfully running a global team to develop and execute on key initiatives; and focus on operational risk excellence & control mitigation to manage continuous changes in the regulatory landscape. You will also partner effectively with colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators, and technology control functions to drive consistent and rigorous operational risk practices
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- You will be creating a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
- Advise on and continually reassess key risks and appropriateness of controls to ensure timely identification of significant risks and issues to support an evolving business & regulatory environment
- Develop and execute a control design & evaluation roadmap to validate the effectiveness of key controls and proactively identify control gaps or breaks
- Provide leadership for the end-to-end execution of the controls’ agenda, including Issue Management, error analysis and resolution, and proactive control reviews & Manage a portfolio of key metrics to inform on the health of the risk and control environment
- Manage internal audits, compliance tests and regulatory exams on behalf of the business
- Create a great and inclusive culture; enhance employee engagement; and attract, develop, and retain the best, most diverse talent and Drive and manage projects and initiatives on risk & controls
- Ensure operational practices are in compliance with relevant risk standards, policies and regulations to maintain an effective control environment
Qualification & skills include:
- You will have significant experience leading an Operations, Business or Controls function within a banking environment required
- Management experience with teams in multiple countries/jurisdictions required
- Ability to drive a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk identification and assessment
- Strong stakeholder management & impactful communication, with an ability to influence business leaders
- Strong leadership, organizational, prioritization, problem-solving, analytical, team building, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think strategically and partner with teams to solve problems and continuously improve processes and controls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including experience with driving a change agenda and ability to effectively communicate complex policy and operational concepts to both senior management and junior operational staff
