The Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk Chief Data Office (CCOR CDO) is part of Risk Management and Compliance and is aligned with Firmwide Data Assurance (FDA) to maximize data interpretation consistency and data trustworthiness across CCOR. CCOR CDO oversees and governs Data Risk Management framework which proactively identifies and monitors emerging and existing risks, establishes and maintains effective controls and governance to mitigate data risks arising from inappropriate, incorrect or unauthorized provision/ consumption, classification, storage, retention and disposal of data. CCOR CDO covers data risks across Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk.
Firmwide Data Assurance (FDA) serves as the governing body to create firmwide standards that drive consistent data management practices, develop technologies and processes to support data management priorities, and partner with Lines of Business/Corporate Functions to embed data management best practices and capabilities.
Job responsibilities
- Assist CCOR CDO Data Risk Lead in implementing and maintaining the Data Risk governance framework with focus on data quality risk
- Execute against Data Risk Management implementation roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders, through data-centric analysis of CCOR data assets/stores
- Maintain strong working relationships with Risk Management, Business Process Owners, Data Providers, Data Owners, Data Quality Managers, Control Managers; other CDOs and key data-related roles across Business and Technology to facilitate effective communication
- Drive data controls efforts across multiple business processes and technology domains to ensure data risk identification and mitigation
- Drive implementation of firmwide data risk programs
- Collaborate effectively with regional and global CDO colleagues to complete ad hoc projects and initiatives
- Develop subject matter expertise in Data Risk Policy & Standards
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Strong experience in the financial industry
- Basic understanding of the company's business practices and familiarity with the company's products and services
- Self-starter, able to work autonomously, with strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high standard
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey complex ideas simply, attention to detail and the ability to drive consensus and influence
- Effective change management skills - ability to support & adapt within a changing environment
- Experience delivering strong governance and oversight across line of business and risk disciplines
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience in one or more of the following area; Finance, Risk Controller, Internal/External Reporting, Business analysis, Data Governance and/or Project management
- Knowledge and experience in Data Quality and Risk management
- Experience with Intelligent Solution tools such as Alteryx, QlikView and Tableau
- Finance related bachelor’s degree
