The Control Manager Investment Governancerole is responsible for the first line independent testing activities related to wealth & investment products at Chase. This role has overall responsibility for enhancing investment processes, in addition to coordinating investment and operational oversight and governance efforts to gain greater efficiency and oversight.
The Control Management team work closely with the Investment Management team and other business areas and functions aligned to Chase UK and the broader firm. This role will require someone who works well within a team, someone who is a self-starter, with strong attention to detail who thrives in a dynamic growing business.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the investment oversight process of the International Consumer Banking Investment teams,
- Coordinate and present the outcome of investment and operational oversight activities to the relevant governance bodies as required, acting as a subject matter expert for investment oversight within International Consumer Banking.
- Undertake investment oversight of Internal and Third-Party Managers, creating and reviewing materials such as investment review decks and quarterly reports.
- Lead regular reviews of mandates, designations and methodologies that are used in various investment oversight processes in collaboration with first line colleagues.
- Lead the creation of new frameworks to support the oversight of new business initiatives.
- Offer independent oversight for the onboarding and ongoing monitoring of internal and third-party fund products.
- Ensuring appropriate levels of documentation and controls exist to evidence the investment oversight.
- Extensive industry experience, preferably within Investment or asset management.
- Working knowledge of the funds business and a variety of investment products including mutual funds, ETFs, hedge funds, structured products, etc.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills; proficient at presenting complex and sensitive issues to senior stakeholders
- The ability to work independently, undertaking self-guided research projects and be eager to engage with all aspects of the investment process.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and build partnerships with key stakeholders and control partners.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a constantly changing environment; effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability.
- Working knowledge and/or experience with ESG and ESG regulations a plus.
- A capability to understand and present complex and technical material in an accessible form.
- A track record of being a team player, willing to impart as well as develop your knowledge.
