As a Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications on modern cloud-based technologies. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical architecture solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of project goals.

Job responsibilities

  • Ownership and collaboration in the production and maintenance of quality SDLC governed Data Models possessing lineage and implementation traceability metadata. These Data Models will be comprised of Business Data Entity Models, Business Event Models, Constituent State Models, utilized Controlled Vocabularies, Communication Models and Consumer Driven Contracts with traceability to/from Logical and Physical schemas.
  • Engage with Business Operations, Product Management and Technology groups to ensure that business requirements are translated into fit-for-purpose data requirements. Will work with Business, Application and Technology Architects to review (and where necessary contribute to) business drivers, needs and strategies whilst assessing the implications and impact to the Data and Information Architecture. Extremely strong communication skills to work across different areas of the company evangelizing the benefits and importance of Information Architecture and Data Management
  • Executes creative data architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose data architecture approaches to meet current and future needs
  • Leads data architecture communities of practice to drive awareness and use of modern data architecture technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 8+ years of hands-on Object-Oriented software development and production management in enterprise-sized applications utilizing languages such as Java, Python, C++; data formats like XML and JSON; Database Management Standards, such as SQL and Data Management systems (Traditional and Cloud) including at least 5+ years of hands-on Information Architecture in enterprise-sized applications with a strong working knowledge of Data Modelling and Meta-modelling (preferably with UML)
  • Very strong knowledge of the Financial Services Domain with an emphasis on Institutional Businesses that include Trading Middle Office, Prime Brokerage, Custody and Fund Accounting, across Securities and Derivatives Products
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more software, application, and architecture disciplines
  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best data architecture solutions for the future state architecture
