As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer / DevOps at JPMorgan Chase, you hold a leadership role in your team, demonstrate strong knowledge across multiple technical domains, and advise others on the technical and business issues facing them. Take lead and conduct resiliency design reviews, break up complex problems into digestible work for other engineers, act as a technical lead for medium to large-sized products, and provide advice and mentoring to other engineers.
The Equities Execution Services Technology department is looking for a SRE/DevOps team member in the low latency Electronic Trading environment. The role will be based in London, and will entail both working closely with the London Business and our Global partners.
About the team
The Global Cash Equities Technology Group supports a well-established major business unit in the JPMorgan Investment Bank. Our group is responsible for providing a true multi-asset Electronic Trading application stack covering multiple lines of business across Electronic Client Solutions, Delta 1, Program Trading and Single Stock.
Job responsibilities
- Leads initiatives to improve the reliability and stability of your team’s applications and platforms using data-driven analytics to improve service levels
- Acts as the main point of contact during major incidents for your application and demonstrates the skills to identify and solve issues quickly to avoid financial losses
- Further advancing the Automated Testing environment
- Monitoring & Management of Plant Capacity & Reporting
- Conducting post Incident Reviews
- To be involved with all phases of Agile SDLC(unit testing, automated build, automated release, automated QA, Jenkins/Jules)
- Proactively improving process to ensure the quality of the deliverables and the efficiency of the team improves.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Deep proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and other site reliability best practices with the ability to implement these practices within an application or platform
- Proficiency and experience in observability such as white and black box monitoring, SLO alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, etc.
- Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous delivery tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, etc.)
- Ability to identify and solve problems related to complex data structures and algorithms
- Experience with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
- Linux: understands the OS architecture, fluent user of the command line, can fluently speak either Perl or Python, UNIX scripting, Java
