J.P. Morgan is offering a unique opportunity for highly-motivated individual to break into security services as part of the securities lending department. Agent Lending is a product line within Trading Services, CIB. Agent Lending provides securities lending services to institutional investors such as pension funds, mutual funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and central banks. Securities Lending is an asset management technique, which increases return on a portfolio. It involves temporary transfer of a security from the owner to the borrower, with both title & ownership transferred. Securities are held in custody at JPMorgan and other custodian banks. The transaction is collateralised (3) with cash or securities (non-cash) to value of securities lent, with an additional margin of 2-11%. At the end of the term, borrower returns the security and economic benefits return to lender (interest , corporate actions). JPMorgan provides risk management to assist clients in the management and mitigation of risk associated with lending securities. This is a competitive, dynamic and evolving industry with clients demanding high levels of customisation and service, including detailed reporting and performance analytics.
Global corporate actions role with oversight in the EMEA, APAC and WHEM regions. Your main focus will be on the management of client assets, ensuring clients receive the correct entitlements resulting from a corporate action. With additional responsibilities to global trade desks to help maximise revenue for both clients and JPM. This is an end to end process from initial reconciliation to payment and event closure, the role requires a high level of risk awareness. As this is a team that covers global markets, you are required to be flexible during peak operational times.
Job responsibilities
- Understand and prepare cross system “broker/client” reconciliations
- Executing intricate client entitlement calculations and processing payments and executing claims
- Cash (Nostro) & stock break investigation / reconciliation
- Managing relationships with multiple stakeholders including third party custodians, brokers, client relationship managers and other internal teams
- Accurately manage risk involved in all types of voluntary corporate actions
- Market & corporate investigation, locating arbitrage opportunities for the trade desk
- Reporting, providing high level summaries to senior management; and working to meet strict intraday deadlines
