As a Business Manager in this role you will cover three dynamic and important risk functions – County Risk, Reputation Risk and Principal Risk.

  • The Country Risk Management function evaluates countries across various factors – including macroeconomic, political, fiscal and monetary – in order to assign the sovereign various internal risk ratings. In addition, the team measures country risk exposure and stress across the firm, monitoring this risk against country limits.
  • Reputation Risk Management establishes the governance framework for managing reputation risk across the firm which includes establishing policy and standards and managing the governance infrastructure and processes that support the consistent identification, escalation, management and monitoring for reputation risk issues firmwide.
  • Principal Risk is directly responsible for risk oversight for principal investing in the CIB and Private Investments (CTC) and coordinates with LOB CRO’s for the oversight of principal investing exposures elsewhere in the Firm.

Country and Reputation Risk functions are led by the Firmwide Risk Executive for Country and Reputation Risk, who reports to the firm’s Chief Risk Officer and Principal Risk is led by the Firmwide Risk Executive for Principal Risk who reports to the Chief Risk Officer of the CIB.

You will be a trusted advisor to senior executives and play a central role in driving organizational strategy, financial discipline and change initiatives. In this role you will be expected to:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior executives and key stakeholders to support day-to-day operations of the teams.
  • Support oversight of the groups’ headcount and expense budgets, forecasts and planning along with supporting activities related to location strategy, hiring, investment tracking, efficiencies opportunities and resourcing planning. Partner closely with the Planning & Analysis and Technology teams to track forecast/actuals versus plan and articulate variance drivers across the portfolio to stakeholders.
  • Drive compelling executive communications including developing content and materials for Board presentations, business reviews and other forums. Organize complex information in a strategic and compelling way.
  • Respond ad-hoc requests related to project management, presentation development, and business analysis. Support audit, regulatory and compliance deliverables as needed.
  • Build strong partnerships with cross functional and other Risk teams supporting day-to-day operations and driving opportunities for greater efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate team activities and people agenda related initiatives including materials for offsites, teambuilding and employee recognition.
  • Instill and maintain strong organizational disciplines, controls and practices including adherence to policies and standards, creation and organization of internal procedures and documentation, and use of document management tools to organize, refine and reuse materials.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Several years of professional experience related to business management roles along with experience in financial services and risk management.
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills with ability to edit and prepare executive level communications
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • A true team player with a “no job too small” attitude while at the same time being able to think strategically
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to collaborate across a highly matrixed organization
  • Outstanding judgment, problem solving ability and resourcefulness
