Introduction:
- Trends & Advisory is a centre of excellence on global trends, market intelligence and thematic solutions for J.P. Morgan Payments, bringing together industry and client insights to provide strategic direction to the business and solutions-led advisory to our clients across the corporate and e-commerce franchise. The Trends and Advisory team operates across three global pillars.
Job Summary:
- Global Trends. This pillar delivers actionable insights into the annual and 3-5 year trends driving the Payments industry. Through this pillar, the team publishes thought leadership, delivers webinars and supports senior leaders in articulating their key messages externally. Within this pillar, the trends & advisory team leads the global strategy for consultant engagement, which is critical to driving our market perception and business success.
- Payments market intelligence. This pillar provides analysis on our competitors capabilities and strategies as well as our recommendations for J.P. Morgan based on the analysis, which is published internally across payments and share with the senior leaders of the organization, including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
- Thematic solutions. This pillar develops solutions and strategies to approach thematic client problems. One example of an area of focus within this pillar is Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) advisory, where this team leads the recommendations on solution build, voice of the client and thought leadership, and alignment with the wider CIB franchise.
- As Trends & Advisory Vice President and Head of Consultant Engagement you will lead the consultant engagement practice globally on behalf of Trends & Advisory as well as. support the EMEA Head of Trends & Advisory as well as the EMEA Regional Head in the delivery against our EMEA.
Job responsibilities:
- Global lead for consultant engagement: Formalizing and expanding the engagement model with senior leaders across influential ‘big 4’ and specialized treasury & payments consultants, across regions and industries.
- Amplifying our value proposition with key consultancies to promote awareness of our strategy and capabilities in order to manage comprehensive client conversion.
- Capturing and evaluating industry and consultant feedback to help advise and influence our investment priorities, product roadmaps and market position
- Building strategic partnerships with key consultants to co-deliver, thought leadership, client pitches and recommendations, flawless implementations and solution concepts via industry co-creation sessions.
- Deliver content, client engagement and thought leadership across regional and global initiatives supporting the pillars, building on your areas of expertise and becoming a go-to resource for leadership within the payments space.
- Support the EMEA Head of Trend & Advisory & Support ESG advisory efforts at a global and regional levels across multiple industries.
- Serve as the voice of our clients by taking a leadership role in our client advisory councils efforts, which is where we work with our most senior and influential clients to determine where we need to focus the business to best support their growth.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Ability to craft executive-level communications in writing and verbally; strong influencer skills with the comfort to challenge status quo.
- Excellent analytical skills, including ability to digest unstructured and multi-source data to deliver insights into key client priorities.
- Customer centric and innovation oriented mindset.
- Collaborative approach with ability to build strong relationships.
- Self-starter, able to work through obstacles and challenges and open to offering – and taking on – new ideas.
- Broad knowledge of treasury and payments, including rapidly evolving payments area, macroeconomic themes and understanding of industry trends, client needs and the market landscape.
- Interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels, across business lines and geographies to achieve goals through indirect leadership and a matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to demonstrate experience in a relevant environment within the financial services industry.
- Front office and / or strategy role in the transaction banking space, including cash management, liquidity, and / or trade solutions.
- Consulting experience at a leading institutions, including ‘big 4’ names, leading management consultants or boutique advisory firms focused on treasury and payments.
